i was trying to get the ink/line work to be cleaner, but then it ended up looking very bland and static (the linework).
i seem to like working with pencil / ballpoint pen the most, so i might try sticking with that (+ smoother paper + scanner / this was snapped with digital camera).
i'll fix up my scanner and see how a scanned version of this one comes out. i intend to draw a portrait of kat von d (part two) from the back -- will do either on another drawing board, or a4 paper (very smooth, but tendency to get lost/misplaced...).

i'll try more full-body poses (then backgrounds, later). started off with face sketches, then face + shoulders, then torso, then legs...
the hard one is foreshortening. will slowly keep trying.
i think it's ok if options are kept open (and/or if a person does what they can under current circumstances) -- then you may find yourself "working in the evenings" some time (:
very close to making a living from writing. i had three basic goals (for first round / first phase).
ONE MORE target...........sheez.
