chain, back by assignation chain, back by assignation
i was trying to get the ink/line work to be cleaner, but then it ended up looking very bland and static (the linework).

i seem to like working with pencil / ballpoint pen the most, so i might try sticking with that (+ smoother paper + scanner / this was snapped with digital camera).

i'll fix up my scanner and see how a scanned version of this one comes out. i intend to draw a portrait of kat von d (part two) from the back -- will do either on another drawing board, or a4 paper (very smooth, but tendency to get lost/misplaced...).

Pretty cool. Both lonely and a little aggressive. Reminds me of Streets of Rage!

thanks -- i think i like drawing because all my tension/neuroses go straight into the lines =P it also helps with observation skills.

i'll try more full-body poses (then backgrounds, later). started off with face sketches, then face + shoulders, then torso, then legs...

the hard one is foreshortening. will slowly keep trying.

I think you have a lot more determination than most people. I'm a little envious because I've never been able to work in the evenings, meaning I put everything into my day job. But good luck!

i think it's a combination of determination, ambition, motivation, desperation, insecurity, and absolute fear (of being/doing nothing)! i had this whole timeline some time ago (when i was 17 or 18)...had some goals for age 18, 19-21-23-25-27-31. 25 is "sort of" the crossover point, so i will try very hard next year instead of maniacally freaking out about not doing it.

i think it's ok if options are kept open (and/or if a person does what they can under current circumstances) -- then you may find yourself "working in the evenings" some time (:

That sounds a bit too intense! I think there's something to be said for simply enjoying life too.

i will "take a (short) break" once i hit my next target. i enjoy the challenge of owning my own life, lol.

very close to making a living from writing. i had three basic goals (for first round / first phase).

ONE MORE target...........sheez.
